Attar Singh Saini’s long and extensive work experience and love for his craft has made him an integral part of the Indian Film Industry. 

He is a graduate from Film & TV Institute of India, Pune (1992 batch), which is one of the premier film Schools of Asia. Saini is an active member and office bearer for Cinematographer’s Combine. Cinematographer’s Combine always striving to work to enrich the knowledge of young cinematographers by sharing hands-on experiences of industry professionals and experts. 

Attar is based in Mumbai and has been working in the Film and TV Industry of India for more than two decades. In the first half of his career, he had worked for numerous television series for leading television channels. His television work profile was widely appreciated by the TV industry and received the ITA award in 2003 for the best cinematography for the television series ‘Kashmeer’ for channel Star Plus.

Saini started his film career with feature film 7-1/2 Phere, there after he has shot around 20 feature films. His body of work is well appreciated in each of his  films. He is best known for the films CHOCOLATE Deep Dark Secret, Dhan Dhana Dhan GOAL, HATE STORY, KHILADI 786 and the National award winning documentaries Daughters of Mother India and Son Rise, both ground breaking, multi-award winning gender rights films that are changing the narrative on gender inequality & injustices globally.  It is Saini’s craft and commitment that gives him the ability to take on burning issues yet leaving the viewers’ sensitised.  

Saini’s advertising portfolio includes the biggest brands. He has shot a large number of TV commercials for big brands such as SBI Bank, Kerala Tourism, Air India, Binani Cement, Indo Farm Tractors, Surf Excel, Pepsodent, Whisper, Clinic All Clear, Hyundai Santo, Sun Feast Biscuit, Britannia biscuit, XXX condoms, Godrej Shaving Cream, Vicks Vaporizer, Rexona Deo, Sagem mobile, Taj Palace Properties Umaid Bhawan Palace, Rambagh Palace, Taj Lake Palace and Taj Falaknuma Palace and Taj West End. Along with Taj hospitality sector, Mr. Saini has done extensive work for Kerala Tourism.

Attar Saini is not easily satisfied.  He is always trying to better himself by creating the magic in his composition and lighting – to heighten the emotion and the drama of the scene.
